Vaddakepuzha Hydel Tourism Centre

The Vadakkepuzha Hydel Tourism Center is situated on Vadakkepuzha Lake, adjacent to the Idukki Dam in Kulamavu, within the Arakkulam Grama Panchayat of Idukki district. The Vadakkepuzha Check Dam was originally constructed to facilitate the flow of water to the Kulamavu Dam. This project involves blocking the Vadakkepuzha River, which flows down from the Nadukani Hills, and pumping the collected water into the reservoir. The Electricity Board completed the construction of this check dam in 2002.

Extensive facilities, including pedal boating and a surrounding garden, are planned for the naturally scenic Vadakkepuzha Check Dam area. Since the waters are not significantly deep, it is a safe spot for even children to enjoy boating without risk. It is considered an ideal destination to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and immerse oneself in the beauty of nature.
